Summer Reading Programs at the Library

It’s Summer 2016 and the Broadview Public Library District will once again be hosting its annual summer reading programs. As part of the Collaborative Summer Reading Program, the sports-oriented themes this year are, for children, On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!; for teens Get In the Game. Read!; and for adults, Exercise Your Mind. Read! Events for children of all ages will complement the summer reading program.

The summer reading program begins on June 15th and extends through July 21st. Beginning on Wednesday, June 15th, participants may register for the program. Tots to teens will register at the Youth Services desk, at which time they will receive a registration packet, including a reading log plus instructions. Kids and teens will earn Book Bucks for the books they read. Those Book Bucks may be exchanged at the end of the summer reading program for fabulous prizes at the Summer Reading Sale on July 21st after the final event.

Adults can register at the Reference desk beginning June 15th. At that time, they will receive a summer reading log and a raffle ticket. For every 5 books read, adults will receive an additional raffle ticket. At the end of the summer reading program, there will be an adult reading raffle. The winner will receive a terrific prize.
