SUMMER READING AT THE LIBRARY

The Broadview Public Library District will host a summer reading program for all ages. In keeping with our plans for eventual groundbreaking and construction of a modern facility , the theme for kids pre-K through grade 6 is ‘Dig into Reading’; for teens grades 7 through 12, the theme is ‘Beneath the Surface’; and for adult readers, ‘Groundbreaking Reads’. Here’s how the program works: Registration begins on Monday, June 3rd. Pre-K through grade 12 will register at the Youth Services Desk; adults will register at the Reference Desk. All participants will negotiate their own goals for reading for the summer and will be given a log to record their own progress. All registered participants will have their names entered into a raffle to take place at the end of the program. Prizes will include two computer tablets (one for kids and teens, and one for adult readers), back-packs and school supplies (for younger readers), and gift cards for adult readers. The last day to turn in your completed reading logs and receive your raffle ticket is July 26th at noon. (jf)
