This April the Broadview Public Library District applied for a 1.4 million dollar construction grant to renovate and expand its current building. We are hoping to address our aging facility and our desire to offer more services with this new facility plan. Because we need and value your help and input we have decided to form a Citizens Input Committee.
The Citizens Input Committee (CIC) is strictly voluntary. It is designed to create a forum for residents and key stakeholders of Broadview to become informed about the Library’s future building project goals and to offer input to the Facilities Planning Committee and Library Board which will help them gain a broader perspective. The group will also help the Board hold public informational sessions.
Our goal is to have a diverse group of residents. These meetings are open to the public and we hope to form a committee which represents the many people of Broadview.
Participating in the Citizens Input Committee will give you a chance to make a difference in your community. I hope that you will come join us.
There will be a series of Thursday evening meetings of the Citizens Input Committee with meetings scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on:
- -June 28th: Facilities Needs and Plans
- -July 12th: Budgeting
- -July 26th: Funding Options
- -August 9th: Information and publicity
- -August 23rd: Next steps
The public is also welcome at the Board Facilities Planning Committee which has meetings scheduled at 6:00 p.m. before the CIC meetings:
- -June 28th
- -July 12th
- -July 26th
- -August 9th
- -August 23rd
All of these meetings are open to the public and interested residents should attend. If you are unable to make any meeting and you would still be interested in serving on the committee or if you have any questions please call me at (708)345-1325 x13.
